In 1992, Mihe Medical began to develop artificial corneas. In 1997, Beijing Mihe Medical Instrument Co., Ltd. was established as a company specializing in the development of artificial vision and ophthalmic medical devices. Over the years, the company has adhered to the principles of integrity in business and win-win cooperation, establishing partnerships with more than 300 tertiary and secondary hospitals across China. Since its establishment, the company has placed great emphasis on the construction of its research and development center and investment in software and hardware. By the end of 2014, it had applied for 23 national invention patents, of which 5 have been granted national patents, with the rest still under review; In 1999, clinical research began in collaboration with hospitals; In 2002, an artificial cornea factory was established; In 2004, Beijing Mihe Eye Hospital was founded. Beijing Mihe Eye Hospital is a professional eye hospital with over a decade of history, originally established in 2004 as an eye center founded by Youanmen Hospital in Beijing and Russia. Beijing Mihe Eye Hospital holds a leading position domestically in areas such as corneal transplantation, retinitis pigmentosa, macular degeneration, optic nerve atrophy, complex fundus diseases, and laser treatment, thanks to its solid foundation, rigorous work ethic, and simultaneous focus on clinical practice and scientific research. It has reached an advanced level in the field of ophthalmology and become an ophthalmic base integrating medicine, teaching, and research, thus gaining widespread recognition and appreciation from patients. In 2012, the company obtained an invention patent for artificial corneas and received a production license from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), completing animal experiments; In 2014, it received a qualified inspection report from the Hangzhou Medical Device Inspection Institute and obtained clinical approval from Beijing Tongren Hospital and the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army.
