Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. is a Japanese pharmaceutical company headquartered in Tosu City, Saga Prefecture, and Tokyo. Established in 1847, the company was originally named Komatsuya and is well-known for producing pain-relief patches and related medicines under the brand name Salonpas. Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical operates two production plants, one in Tosu City where its Kyushu headquarters is located, and the other in Utsunomiya City, Tochigi Prefecture, employing over 1,400 people within Japan.
