Hoechst AG is a German chemical and bioscience company that became Aventis Deutschland after merging with French Rhône-Poulenc SA in 1999. Following the merger of the new company with Sanofi-Synthélabo in 2004, it became a subsidiary of the Sanofi-Aventis pharmaceutical group.
