Basic Information

Covidien Ltd., one of the earliest global suppliers of medical solutions, originated from G. Mallinckrodt & Company, founded in 1867 in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. It was officially renamed Covidien in 2007 and acquired by Medtronic in 2014. Covidien holds a leading position in the medical device, pharmaceutical, and medical supplies industries. In 2015, Medtronic merged with Covidien, integrating it into its Minimally Invasive Therapies Group. Covidien's energy-based surgical products mainly include high-frequency electrosurgical generators, large vessel sealing devices, and electrode products, being the first in the world to introduce bipolar vessel sealing technology. The Valleylab FT10 energy platform under Covidien is a cost-effective unit that integrates bipolar cutting, coagulation, and Ligasure tissue sealing functions.
