Basic Information

LineaRx Uses Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) to Provide Large-Scale Production of DNA Sequences. Large-scale PCR can provide highly purified DNA for cell therapy, vaccines, diagnostics, and gene therapy. We can meet CRO and CMO needs with linear DNA at any scale. LineaRx seeks to commercialize the biopharmaceutical value of Applied DNA's deep expertise and experience in designing, manufacturing, and chemically modifying DNA through large-scale polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Linear DNA is a form of DNA that differs from circular DNA, which is most commonly produced in plasmids and grown in bacteria. Plasmids are extrachromosomal DNA found in bacteria, often associated with antibiotic resistance genes that are frequently exchanged between bacteria, thus being considered by many as a serious threat to global health. Additionally, many nucleic acid-based therapies also rely on viral vectors for efficient transfection and expression of plasmid DNA. These viral vectors carry additional significant risks and are extremely time-consuming and costly to manufacture.
