DSC Technologies is developing a point-of-care plasma assay to differentiate between Type I and Type II heart attacks. Toponin biomarker testing is the current standard for diagnosis, but thousands of patients are misdiagnosed each year with potentially dangerous consequences. By providing a diagnostic aid to enhance standard testing, this technology will enable rapid identification of heart attack types, allowing for the timely administration of appropriate medications and palliative care.
