Daniel and Erik, the founders of Flow Neuroscience, met in 2012 and, leveraging their combined expertise in clinical psychology, computer networking, computational neuroscience, and electrical engineering, formed this team. In January 2016, they launched Flow. Flow Neuroscience uses brain stimulation to treat depression. The company has developed a headset that delivers transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) to the forehead, which, according to the company, can reverse the imbalance of neural activity observed in the frontal lobes of individuals with depression. With the vision of making depression treatment simple, accessible, and usable anytime, anywhere, Flow Neuroscience combines wearable devices with a mobile application. The mobile app guides users in changing ingrained behavior patterns to alleviate the impact of depression on patients.
