TauRx Therapeutics Ltd was founded in Singapore in 2002 with the aim of developing new therapies and diagnostic methods for various neurodegenerative diseases based on a novel approach that targets abnormal fibrillar aggregates of Tau protein formed inside brain nerve cells. Since then, the TauRx team has discovered that LMTX™ also has beneficial effects in several other neurodegenerative diseases associated with Tau pathology, as well as in other protein aggregation diseases, including Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease, and frontotemporal dementia (Pick's disease).
