American BioOptics (ABO) is a cancer screening company focused on colorectal cancer. ABO's InPoint™ technology includes a bedside cart containing a spectrometer, filters, calibrators, and a computer. A fiber optic cable with a disposable probe tip is introduced into the distal rectum. The screening test lasts approximately 10 minutes and demonstrates high accuracy in differentiating advanced adenomas (AA), from which 95% of CRC originates. The system provides cancer risk assessment by identifying high-risk patients who require further colonoscopic evaluation.
