Re-Vana Therapeutics is an ophthalmic pharmaceutical and drug delivery company established in 2016. It is dedicated to developing and commercializing a revolutionary long-acting biodegradable drug delivery platform for the treatment of chronic eye diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and ocular infections.Dr. Raj Thakur and his team have developed a novel concept of photo-crosslinking for ocular drug delivery. Re-Vana is developing photo-crosslinking technologies for various therapeutic approaches, which may significantly extend the duration of drug administration to the eye via intravitreal, topical, or other injectable routes. Additionally, Re-Vana can reduce or potentially eliminate the need for topical drug delivery. Re-Vana’s technology may enable a new generation of drugs that require only 1-2 intravitreal or anterior segment administrations per year. The Re-Vana platform can also be used with many drugs that have recently become generics or biosimilars, which have demonstrated excellent efficacy in a short period.
