Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), established by Emiri decree in 1979, is Qatar's premier non-profit healthcare provider. HMC, located in the State of Qatar, manages eight hospitals and provides national ambulance services and home healthcare services. HMC is the only healthcare institution outside the United States to have all its hospitals simultaneously re-accredited by The Joint Commission International, and in 2011, its ambulance services and home healthcare services also received JCI accreditation.
