TopSpin Medical has developed an innovative and unique high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging technology using intravascular magnetic resonance imaging (IVMRI) catheters for coronary arteries, without the need for expensive and bulky external MRI devices. The catheter contains components typically found in traditional MRI scanners, but they have been miniaturized to less than 2 millimeters in size. In 2006, Topspin Medical began developing its integrated endorectal MRI and ultrasound probe for prostate cancer imaging.
