Chundsell Medicals AB, established in 2007 as a spin-off from Karolinska Institutet in Solna, aims to commercialize Chunde Li’s research achievements in prostate cancer genomics. The first product: the Prostatype® Test System can evaluate prostate cancer aggressiveness in conjunction with currently used clinical parameters. The Prostatype® Test System measures the expression patterns of three selected and specific prostate cancer embryonic stem cell genes in tumor tissue samples. These expression patterns, together with a selected set of known clinical parameters, will help healthcare professionals predict disease outcomes, overall survival, and cancer-specific survival for patients.
