IntraOp Medical Corporation, also known as IntraOp, was founded in April 1993. It is dedicated to the development, manufacturing, sales, and service of the Mobetron—a mobile electron beam system designed for use in intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) to treat cancer, coronary/vascular restenosis, and other medical applications. Unlike other IORT systems, the Mobetron utilizes several patented technologies that allow IORT to be performed without the need for a shielded operating room. The Mobetron can be moved between operating rooms or even between hospitals, improving system utilization and cost-effectiveness. Just as the CT scanner revolutionized the practice of radiology diagnostics, the Mobetron is transforming cancer treatment for patients worldwide.
