Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive medical institution dedicated to providing professional care to a wide range of patients in the Pacific Northwest, including the most vulnerable residents of King County.

Basic Information

As the only designated Level I adult and pediatric trauma and verified burn center in Washington State, Harborview serves as the regional trauma and burn referral center for Alaska, Montana, and Idaho, as well as the disaster preparedness and control hospital for Seattle and King County. Harborview Medical Center is owned by King County and managed under contract by a county-appointed board and the University of Washington. Harborview plans and coordinates public health projects and services provided by Seattle and King County’s public health departments, other county agencies, community providers, and regional hospitals.
