Simplify Cervical Artificial Disc is the main product of Simplify Medical, Inc., consisting of a ceramic core and two polymer endplates made of polyetheretherketone (PEEK). The product is designed to treat degenerative cervical disc disease and is undergoing pivotal clinical trials for single-level or two adjacent levels of disc implantation. Patients with non-metallic implants can avoid radiation exposure by undergoing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) instead of computed tomography (CT), while also avoiding image artifacts caused by metal.
