Basic Information
Genelux Corporation is a privately held, clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company that has developed a proprietary technology platform based on oncolytic viruses and a series of products widely used in cancer detection and treatment. GL-ONC1, the company's lead oncology product candidate, is an attenuated vaccinia virus (Lister strain) that can cause significant regression and elimination of large solid tumors in animals without harming healthy tissues or organs. GL-ONC1 encodes green fluorescent protein (GFP), enabling highly selective imaging of tumors and metastases to assist in diagnosis and staging. GL-ONC1 is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II human clinical trials in the United States and Europe, with additional U.S.- and Europe-based trials set to commence in the near future. GL-ONC1 has demonstrated good tolerability with minimal side effects and shown early signs of anti-tumor activity.
