Fraunhofer ITEM, the Institute for Toxicology and Experimental Medicine, is one of approximately 70 institutions of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Europe's leading applied research organization. Protecting humans from health hazards in our industrialized world and contributing to the development of new therapies are the goals pursued by Fraunhofer ITEM through its contract research. We focus on airway research, and our R&D portfolio encompasses three thematic areas: drug development, chemical safety, and translational biomedical engineering. Additionally, our scientists in Regensburg conduct research in the field of personalized oncology treatment.
