F2G is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery and development of novel therapies for treating life-threatening invasive fungal infections. F2G has discovered and developed an entirely new class of antifungal agents called orotomides. Orotomides target dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH), a key enzyme in the de novo pyrimidine biosynthesis pathway. This mechanism is completely different from that of currently marketed antifungal agents and provides potent fungicidal activity against a variety of rare and drug-resistant mold infections. Olorofim (formerly F901318) is F2G's leading product in this category and is currently in a Phase 2b open-label study, focusing on rare and drug-resistant fungal infections.
