EyeSense

EyeSense was founded in 2006 as a spin-off from CIBA Vision, a subsidiary of the Novartis Group. As early as 2007, clinical research on the first prototype of the ophthalmic sensor was successfully conducted. This was followed by gradual improvements and further clinical trials until 2010. The eye sensor is currently in an advanced prototype stage. As of 2010, the focus of development work has been on creating a continuous glucose monitoring system. In 2011 and 2012, two successful clinical trials were carried out using a prototype of the continuous glucose monitoring system. Since 2013, EyeSense has been working on further developing the continuous glucose monitoring system up to series maturity. In 2017, two clinical studies with near-series prototypes were successfully conducted, even under everyday conditions.
