Elute, Inc. has developed a polymer-controlled drug delivery device aimed at preventing and treating orthopedic and other surgical bone infections. Its lead candidate product, ElutiBone, claims to significantly improve patient outcomes and transform the management of peri-prosthetic bone infections. It is designed to deliver an initial burst of tobramycin directly to the infection site at a sufficiently high concentration to treat the infection without compromising bone growth.
