Elenza, Inc. is developing the world's first electronic "AutoFocal" intraocular lens to compete in the billions of dollars artificial crystal market. Elenza's highly proprietary next-generation adjustable IOL aims to provide patients with a full range of vision, offering effective correction for nearsightedness, intermediate vision, and farsightedness. These electroactive intraocular lenses use a proprietary combination of liquid crystal chemistry, electrical engineering, and integrated circuits to create smart optics, which will enable patients to see more naturally and clearly across their entire field of vision. The technology includes an electroactive switchable element that can automatically adjust focusing power within milliseconds to maintain constant focused vision under various working needs and/or light environments.
