Ekam Imaging

In the 1990s, when designing preclinical studies, Professor Craig Ferris, then at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, was frustrated by the inherent limitations of conducting brain imaging research on anesthetized animals. To study brain activity in animals unaffected by anesthesia, his team developed a set of restrictors, receptors, and software that enabled conscious MRI, nearly identical to what is used in humans.
