Basic Information
Vigene Biosciences, founded in 2012, provides services and products for the rapidly growing field of gene therapy. At that time, the main viral vector in use was adenovirus, so Vigene developed cloning technology to produce the largest full-length human open reading frames packaged in adenovirus. In the following years, different viral vectors were more widely used in research, leading Vigene to expand its viral packaging and cloning services to include major viral vectors for gene delivery (AAV, adenovirus, lentivirus, and retrovirus). Vigene also diversified its portfolio to include control viruses, shRNA clones, biosensors, and tools for Parkinson’s disease. Currently, Vigene operates out of an 11,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility with over 15 GMP cleanroom suites.
