DUOPHARM S.A was founded in 2003, formed by the merger of nearly 150 Senegalese pharmacists. Since then, the company has made breakthrough progress in the Senegalese pharmaceutical field, thanks to its close-contact marketing strategy. The local pharmaceutical market is highly competitive, with the presence of European multinational corporations. However, this market in Senegal is experiencing very strong growth, and per capita health expenditure in the country has increased significantly since the beginning of the century. As a result, the number of pharmacies has doubled since 1999, and the pharmaceutical market has grown by about 6% annually since 1999.
