Dextera Surgical, formerly known as Cardica, designs and manufactures patented products to automate the connection or anastomosis of blood vessels during coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and other transplant surgeries. Cardica's automated anastomosis products are designed to replace hand-sewn anastomosis, a procedure that is both time-consuming and difficult to perform.
