Delta and Pine Land Company

Delta & Pine Land Company was originally chartered as a land speculation company in Mississippi in 1886, but did not begin operations until 1919, when a British textile company acquired the name. During the 1920s and 1930s, the company operated one of the largest cotton plantations in the Mississippi Delta, headquartered in Scott, Mississippi. It primarily engages in the planting, production, regulation, and marketing of cotton seeds in the United States.
