Basic Information
DEINOVE is a French biotechnology company at the forefront of exploring a new domain of life, with an exploration rate of 99.9%. By unveiling the metabolic potential of rare bacteria or those still classified as uncultivable, it addresses a global health and economic challenge: antimicrobial resistance. The new therapies discovered and developed by DEINOVE target superbugs (microorganisms resistant to one or more antimicrobials), which cause life-threatening infections and are currently spreading rapidly. This groundbreaking approach has led to the creation of the world’s first dedicated micro-biotechnology platform and a unique collection of nearly 10,000 rare strains and thousands of bacterial extracts. Today, DEINOVE is advancing several development projects, with its first antibiotic candidate currently in Phase II clinical trials for the treatment of severe Clostridioides difficile infections, one of the world's most urgent threats. The company is also developing new bacterial micro-factories, addressing another issue in the race against antimicrobial resistance: the industrial production of these rare and low-concentration compounds, which often have chemical structures too complex to be synthesized chemically.
