Cypex

Cypex Ltd. is a manufacturer of recombinant drug-metabolizing enzymes. The technology behind Cypex's core products was developed during a five-year research project at the University of Dundee, funded by the UK Research Council (BBSRC) and a pharmaceutical company. Since launching its first recombinant CYP enzyme in the early 2000s, Cypex has established an extensive product portfolio comprising over 115 recombinant enzymes, including CYP, UGT, CES, and AOX, as well as associated chemicals and media. Services such as inhibition screening, protein expression, and drug metabolite generation are also provided. These products and services are used to generate in vitro data demonstrating how candidate drugs are metabolized in the human body, which is often included in regulatory submissions for new drug applications.
