Cellular Bioengineering Inc. (CBI), a sister company of SKAI Ventures, is a disruptive technology accelerator for biomedical applications based in Hawaii. Currently, 10 million people worldwide suffer from corneal blindness due to a lack of sufficient organ donors. CBI holds the global license to develop a bio-integrated polymer corneal substitute, aiming to provide the gift of sight to these individuals. Now in experimental clinical trials, the initial cohort of patients has shown promising results in preliminary follow-ups.
