CellMed AG is developing encapsulated cell systems for the delivery of therapeutic substances within patients. CellMed AG utilizes proprietary encapsulation technology and mesenchymal stromal cell-based cell lines. The cells are engineered to secrete desired proteins or peptides. These systems are manufactured under GMP and are currently in clinical trials for the treatment of stroke. The engineered peptide here is a proprietary version of GLP-1 with specific anti-apoptotic properties.
