Caelum Biosciences, Inc. ("Caelum") is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing treatments for rare and life-threatening diseases. CAEL-101 is a potential "first-in-class" fibril-reactive monoclonal antibody for the treatment of light chain (AL) amyloidosis. CAEL-101 can bind to misfolded variants of different light chain proteins and amyloid to reduce or eliminate amyloid deposits, thereby improving organ function in patients. CAEL-101 has been granted orphan drug designation by the U.S. FDA and the European Commission as a potential therapy for patients with immunoglobulin light chain amyloidosis.
