Applera Corporation

Applera Corporation is one of the largest international biotechnology companies in the United States.Appelera consists of two business units, Celera and Berkeley HeartLab. Celera provides diagnostics for disease management, while Berkeley HeartLab offers services to predict the risk of cardiovascular diseases. In 2008, Celera was spun off from Appelera to become an independent entity. Soon after, Applera renamed itself Applied Biosystems. The company now focuses on integrated systems for genetic analysis.
