Avon Books

Avon Books was founded by American News Company (ANC) in 1941 with the aim of creating a competitor to Pocket Books. They hired siblings Joseph Meyers and Edna Meyers Williams to establish the company. ANC acquired JS Ogilvie Publications, a dime novel publisher partially owned by Meyers, and renamed it "Avon Publications." They also ventured into comic books.
