Aviragen Therapeutics focuses on the discovery and development of next-generation direct-acting antiviral drugs to treat infections with limited treatment options that affect a large number of patients worldwide. The company has three compounds in Phase II clinical stages: vapendavir, a capsid inhibitor for the prevention or treatment of rhinovirus (RV) upper respiratory tract infections; enzaplatovir (BTA585), a fusion protein inhibitor under development for the treatment of respiratory syncytial virus infections; and BTA074, an antiviral treatment for condyloma acuminatum caused by human papillomavirus types 6 and 11.
