AVAX Technologies, Inc. is an international integrated biotechnology company focused on the development and commercialization of its AC Vaccine® technology for cancer treatment. Its most advanced candidate product is MVax for the treatment of melanoma. MVax is a cancer vaccine that reached a Special Protocol Assessment agreement with the FDA in October 2006, followed by the initiation of a Phase III registration clinical trial in November 2007. In previous studies, MVax demonstrated a 5-year overall survival rate of 44% and a response rate of 35%.
