Basic Information
BZL Biologics LLC is developing monoclonal antibodies for diagnostic imaging and treatment of various cancers. The antibody against prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), developed at Weill Cornell Medicine, is the first antibody capable of binding to living cells. PSMA is a unique target on the cell membrane present in all prostate cancer cells and vascular cells of all solid tumors, but not in normal blood vessels. The lead antibody has been humanized and has completed 11 clinical trials involving 300 patients across five academic medical centers.
