BrainDx has developed a modular system that allows customers to evaluate brain function at multiple levels of analysis, aiding in the classification of individuals based on psychiatric and neurological disorders. Using 3-D source localization methods, the mathematically most probable underlying sources of scalp-recorded data can be identified and utilized to further understand the pathophysiology of the condition, thereby assisting in optimizing and evaluating treatment techniques, including medication. BrainDx technology generates an interpretive report that clinicians can use to document the neurofunctional status related to an individual’s behavior and performance capabilities. Part of the report generation process involves comparing the results of the patient's brain function profile with a database of age-matched normal individuals. Then, combined with information from the patient’s medical history, statistical comparisons are made with the appropriate clinical databases, comparing the individual patient's QEEG profile with known QEEG profiles of diseases to assess the probability that the patient is statistically similar to these cases, thus aiding in the diagnostic process. Additionally, clinical guidelines for treatment interventions can be provided based on these profiles to help end-users prioritize treatment options.
