Biosonics

BioSonics Inc. was founded in 1978 in Seattle, Washington. Established by Bill Acker, a former engineering professor and senior scientist at the University of Washington's Applied Physics Laboratory, BioSonics pioneered the application of hydroacoustic technology in aquatic resource monitoring. In its early years, the primary focus was on building equipment for the scientific community to assess and monitor salmon in the oceans, rivers, lakes, and reservoirs of the Pacific Northwest. While the company continues to provide solutions for fisheries research in this region, today it offers hydroacoustic solutions for monitoring biological and physical characteristics in almost any aquatic environment worldwide.
