Basic Information
BIOQUAL, established in 1981, provides contract research services with a focus on in vivo models of human diseases, including AIDS, influenza, RSV infection, flavivirus infections such as Zika and dengue fever, malaria, hepatitis, and cancer. BIOQUAL has laboratories and animal facilities equipped with BSL-2 and BSL-3 containment rooms. Additionally, BIOQUAL maintains CDC-approved BSL-3 containment laboratories for research involving select agents, including highly pathogenic avian influenza. BIOQUAL’s laboratories are actively engaged in the evaluation of vaccines, vaccine therapies, microbicides, and drug therapies. In vitro services are available to assess immunological, virological, and molecular parameters. These services include sample processing, viral stock generation, quantification of infectious virus, virus neutralization assays, hemagglutination inhibition assays, quantitative PCR, antigen and antibody ELISA assays, flow cytometry, lymphocyte proliferation, and other cell-based assays.
