BioMarck Pharmaceuticals, Ltd. is a privately held biopharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery and development of novel drugs for the treatment of pulmonary diseases and conditions associated with excessive mucus secretion and lung inflammation. In developing its lead compound, BIO-11006 Inhalation Solution, BioMarck selected chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (particularly chronic bronchitis) as its initial target, while other conditions such as asthma and cystic fibrosis are later-stage disease targets. The BIO-11006 Inhalation Solution employs a novel dual mechanism; it inhibits both mucus secretion in the lungs and pulmonary inflammation. These aspects of the BIO-11006 Inhalation Solution have been demonstrated in several different animal models. Additionally, BioMarck has completed a full set of preclinical safety studies, holds an active IND with the FDA, has completed two Phase 1 clinical studies of BIO-11006, and has finished a Phase 2 study evaluating the efficacy of BIO-11006 in COPD patients.
