Product and Procedure: Bead Block Bead Block is a compressible, visibly colored polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) microsphere, provided in a convenient pre-filled syringe for embolization therapy. Embolization therapy is a minimally invasive (non-surgical) procedure performed by interventional radiologists to treat tumors or vascular malformations by blocking blood flow to the target area. Embolization therapy is a minimally invasive (non-surgical) treatment: - Hypervascular tumors - abnormal proliferation of benign or malignant tissue due to excessive development of blood vessels supplying the area. - Arteriovenous malformations - abnormal shunts between arteries and veins bypassing the normal capillary bed, which can cause complications. During the procedure, embolic materials (typically composed of tiny particles or beads made from biomedical polymers) are injected into selected blood vessels to block the blood supply to the tumor or malformation, causing it to shrink over time.
