Barr Laboratories is a specialty pharmaceutical company dedicated to the development, manufacturing, and marketing of generic and proprietary pharmaceuticals. Barr is a research-intensive pharmaceutical company with revenues of $903 million in the fiscal year 2003. The company currently manufactures and markets over 100 core therapeutic medications, including oncology, women's healthcare (including hormone replacement and oral contraceptives), cardiovascular, anti-infectives, and psychiatric drugs. It was acquired by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries in 2008 for an estimated $7.46 billion.
