Bactiguard

Bactiguard is a Swedish medical technology company. Bactiguard's technology prevents bacteria from adhering to and forming biofilms on medical devices. The technology is provided through licensing agreements with other medical technology product manufacturers and its own product portfolio, BIP (Bactiguard Infection Protection). Catheters with Bactiguard coating became market leaders in the United States and Japan through the licensee partner BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) after being acquired by CR Bard. Bactiguard’s own portfolio of catheters, endotracheal tubes, and central venous catheters helps prevent common infections in the urinary tract, bloodstream, and airways.
