Balter Medical AS (BM) was founded in 2001 in Bergen, Norway, by Professor Jakob J. Stamnes and Professor Knut Stamnes. The company aims to develop and commercialize medical applications of optical transmission, a mathematical modeling technique applied to digital photographic images of tissues to enhance the understanding of tissue characteristics.
