Basic Information
Apogenix is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing novel protein therapies for the treatment of cancer and inflammatory diseases. The mechanism of action of the compound is based on targeted modulation of programmed cell death (also known as apoptosis, from the Greek ἁπόπτωσις, used to describe leaves "falling" from trees) or the inhibition of tumor cell growth. The company's lead candidate, APG101, is currently undergoing a controlled phase II proof-of-concept study in GBM patients (GBM: Glioblastoma Multiforme).
