ASG Superconductors was established in 2001 when the industrial magnet division of Ansaldo Group was privatized. It has now become a global leader in technologies related to the design, construction, and testing of superconducting magnetic systems. The company's expertise ranges from design to production, to complete testing of superconducting systems and magnets. Recently, ASG has diversified its activities through subsidiaries Paramed and Columbus Superconductors, particularly in biomedical applications (diagnosis and treatment) as well as in the design and development of magnets and systems for the energy sector (SMES, FCL, wind turbines, energy transmission systems).
