Alucent Medical is a privately held biotechnology company headquartered in Salt Lake City. Alucent Medical, Inc. is authorized to develop and market Natural Vascular Scaffolding (NVS) for peripheral vascular disease (PVD). PVD is a condition that occurs when fatty deposits and calcium (plaque) build up in the arterial walls, causing narrowing of the arteries and reducing blood circulation to the legs. We are conducting Phase I human clinical trials for our lead product, which uses Natural Vascular Scaffolding technology to open diseased arteries and restore normal blood flow in these vessels. Alucent's technology represents a significant advancement in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease, with the potential to eliminate the need for vascular implants and stents, and greatly reduce the need for retreatment.
