Aortica Corporation was founded to design, manufacture, and market tools for treating AAA conditions in patients whose aortic anatomy limits their treatment options. While EVAR has become a highly desirable option for treating AAA, approximately 40% of patients are not suitable for EVAR because their aortic anatomy does not allow proper anchoring of the endograft without blocking blood flow to vital organs. These patients either undergo open surgery or receive standard EVAR treatment.
