Amersham, headquartered in the UK, is a world-leading medical diagnostics and life sciences company. The Amersham Group has more than 10,000 employees worldwide, with sales of £1.62 billion (£2.43 billion) in 2002. The company was formed in 1997 through the merger of Amersham International (UK), Pharmacia Biotech (Sweden), and Nycomed.
